House Station Live .com Press Release: October 2024

Let me introduce to you the most advanced version of House Station Live .com to this day of October 2024, curated from more than 10 years.

HSL TV / Canal Smile

  • Premium Feeling Focused:
Since our channel is 100% private and reserved for paying members, we don’t obsess over viewer counts. We have zero restrictions. We broadcast adult content every morning at 10 am, and we regularly host debates on gender issues. We maintain absolute neutrality in our tech reviews, offering a space for open discussion and authentic content.
  • Artistic Home Studio:
Unlike most YouTube channels, which often share a generic wooden aesthetic, we offer a distinctive tone and style. Our studio took 3 years and €50,000 to set up, fitting perfectly within a 30m² soundproof booth. Every centimeter is optimized for its purpose, and each piece of scenery is a work of art from around the world. Extensive research ensures that nothing is left to chance, making our home studio one of a kind, even featuring a completely wireless debate room.
  • 4K Versatile Setup:
We have devised hundreds of DIY tips to save both space and money, especially when it comes to spare parts and lighting. Like any modern channel, we run a mobile production setup, allowing the host to play videos or memes independently without third-party intervention, helping to cut production costs. Every section of the studio is designed for specific uses, including areas for tutorials, show intros, and multiple handcrafted setups that make the space highly adaptable.
  • Studio Name and Logo:
Our branding is simple yet powerful: “13,” consisting of just two characters, giving more space for a visually striking design. The logo is a lion, representing Marseille, our home, and it features the azure colors of the Marseille flag, adding regional pride to our global platform. This minimalist approach allows the brand to speak for itself while maintaining a strong visual identity.
  • Well-Thought Overlay:
Our overlay is meticulously designed to incorporate multiple layers of information. We offer space for sponsors, listener messages, and updates on upcoming shows. This layout keeps the show profitable, even when we’re not broadcasting fullscreen ads, allowing for a seamless blend of content and commercial opportunities.

House Station Live .com

  • Gigantic Music Collection:
Favoring harmony over genre and talent over popularity, we showcase young talents alongside old classics, often in rare versions. This approach eliminates boredom and routine, offering a consistently engaging program schedule. Our unique blend of music ensures that listeners are always discovering something fresh and captivating.
  • 320kbps Lossless Quality:
From 20 Hz to 20 kHz, we maintain an authentic sound experience, preserving the original audio spectrum within a range of +/- 3 decibels. We invest heavily in rare, old tracks sourced from the four corners of the world, which we digitize to broadcast at the highest possible quality. Vinyl purchases are a significant expense due to retro pricing, shipping fees, and the continuous acquisition of records from different stores globally.
  • Artistic Transitions:
House Station Live .com is the world’s first radio station to use a custom-made automation system capable of AI-driven DJing at a professional level. This isn’t just a playlist; it’s a carefully crafted flow where contrasting styles blend harmoniously, pushing the boundaries of what “harmony” truly means in music programming.
  • Premium Platforms:
House Station Live .com is accessible on mobile devices (Android and iOS), through an optimized version for mobile browsers, a high-definition version for desktop computers, and a simple player page for convenience. We’re also indexed on radio.net’s directory. Our main website features a unique track search engine, with extensive criteria to filter through a vast database, offering an unparalleled way to explore the artists we play.
  • Curated Collections:
In addition to our regular broadcasts, we offer curated music collections that reflect specific themes, moods, or periods. These special playlists are crafted by our team and are available for streaming exclusively to our subscribers. Each collection provides a deeper dive into the genres and styles we champion, giving listeners a rich, immersive experience.
  • Global Reach:
Our music selection is not confined to one region. We actively seek out tracks from every corner of the world, from underrepresented genres and rare editions to forgotten gems. This global approach allows us to offer an eclectic mix that truly spans the spectrum of music, keeping our station diverse and inclusive of all sounds.

HSL Store / 13

  • Ad Spaces for Sale:
We offer various ad spot formats across House Station Live and our other projects. Advertisements will never influence our editorial content, as we have other sources of revenue and plenty of potential brands to replace any that may be unhappy with our opinions and values. We won’t change to please others, and no human being or entity should ever feel pressured to do so. With backup plans and tons of creativity, we’re never desperate to sign with advertisers. We also limit the number of ads broadcasted because we don’t want to disrupt our audience’s experience.
  • Ad Production:
We produce advertisements and provide full support to our sponsors if needed. Our goal is to make the process seamless for our partners by offering the tools and clear interfaces that we excel at creating. Our pricing is always transparent, which aligns with our policy for every product and service we offer. This approach helps us build strong, trustworthy relationships with our sponsors.
  • Syndication:
Our syndication service comes at a cost, but we ensure it isn’t overloaded with self-promotion, as we find that tactic to be disingenuous. We have a fair tiered pricing system, where media outlets pay according to their size. Since most of our productions are expensive, syndication plays a key role in “crowdfunding” the continuation of our content.
  • Branded Merch:
Our tees are designed to make you smile because we only produce them when truly inspired. Even for non-fans, our t-shirts are comfortable and don’t feel like walking advertisements. The price of each tee is equivalent to one year of crowdfunding at €13 per month. Older collections are still available at a lower price, but remember that these products are designed to support the project rather than compete in pricing.
  • Limited Edition Drops:
From time to time, we release limited edition collections that are highly curated and tied to significant moments in our journey. These drops offer exclusive designs and unique features that reflect the evolution of House Station Live, making them more than just merchandise—they’re collectibles. Each piece is crafted with care, embodying our commitment to quality and creativity.

📜 House Station Live .com’s History 📜

  • 2006-2010: Early FM Aspirations and Setbacks
In 2006, House Station Live applied for an FM frequency under the project name “Turbomusic.” However, in 2008, Arcom requested that music programming be replaced with shows, leading to the birth of Canal Smile. Despite our efforts, by 2010, the project was rejected by Arcom, and the dream of FM radio was put on hold.
  • 2012: TV Lab and Market Study
In 2012, we produced a prime-time market study and cue sheet based on our work for Canal Smile, entering France Télévisions’ TV Lab competition for young producers. Although the winner was a celebrity, their contract was voided after only three months. Despite not winning, the experience helped refine our vision for future projects.
  • 2014-2016: House Station Live .com and Self-Taught Learning
In 2014, we shifted gears and brought House Station Live .com online, learning the technical side of broadcasting through platforms like Icecast and AOL TV. While not yet broadcasting, this period was a learning curve. By 2016, I was diving into HTML as a self-taught creator, laying the groundwork for the station’s digital infrastructure.
  • 2018: Official Launch of House Station Live
On March 30th, 2018, House Station Live .com officially started broadcasting. This coincided with the launch of the website’s 4th version, marking a significant milestone 12 years after Turbomusic.fr’s first version. This period was pivotal in cementing our presence online.
  • 2020: The HSL Journal and Dhont Panik
As part of our continued evolution, 2020 saw the creation of The HSL Team™, a group of writers dedicated to producing content for House Station Live. We also launched the first issue of the HSL Journal, which included the comic “Dhont Panik,” humorously narrating my personal misadventures. This comic made up half the journal, requiring readers to flip the magazine upside down to read it.
  • 2022: HSL Café and Expansion
In 2022, we launched HSL Café, a 3D dancefloor where listeners could interact through avatars, as part of our second crowdfunding campaign. Version 6 of House Station Live .com expanded to include news, memes, and analysis, moving beyond just music content. This update allowed us to grow and evolve the platform into a more diverse and independent entity.
  • 2024: HSL TV and Mobile Applications
2024 was a significant year as we kicked off our third crowdfunding campaign: HSL TV. Within six months, our YouTube channel reached 25,000 subscribers. We also completed free mobile apps for Android and iOS, adding more functionality and reach. One of the biggest challenges was creating a personalized member area, where users own their purchases forever, yet only access content from their subscription period onward. To support this, we invested €50,000 into premium production for our TV studio, ensuring the quality justified the subscription fees.

The HSL Team™ / 13

  • Shared Knowledge:
The HSL Team™ brings years of experience on the internet, committed to sharing insights with beginners navigating the digital world. The online space can feel like a harsh jungle when you lack a network or trustworthy connections to build your online presence. Our goal is to provide the education we couldn’t find when we first started. Solidarity is one of our key values, and we believe in helping others succeed by offering the knowledge we’ve gained along the way.

HSL Journal / Egghead

  • Unique Visual Identity:
The “Egg” color scheme, square form-factor, and reversible design with Dhont Panik’s comic on the other side give Egghead its unique identity. Spirals along the spine allow each page to stay flat and separate, preserving the content as you read. We also provide free presentation boxes to store issues neatly in your library, hiding the spirals when not in use.
  • Innovative Functionality:
The spirals are not just for show—they can also be used creatively. For example, when a calendar or poster is included, the spirals can serve as a tent for display. Additionally, hooks can be inserted between the spirals, allowing you to hang large images without damaging them. The 29cm x 29cm pages act as a dashboard for presenting information efficiently, ensuring readers can easily absorb the content.
  • Dhont Panik’s Story:
Dhont Panik began as a humorous take on my personal story, drawn from real-life misadventures. I have years of footage and experiences that fuel the inspiration for the comic series. The name was randomly generated—“Panikian”—but I shortened it to avoid any cultural association. The first name, Dhont, comes from a childhood friend, and the comic itself is based on an authentic, emotional journey filled with real-life humor.
  • Physical Copy Ownership:
We deeply value providing something tangible for our crowdfunding members. The physical journal represents true ownership—something that won’t be deleted or revoked. You don’t need a subscription to keep it, and no one will ever take it away from you. This sense of permanent ownership is incredibly important to us.
  • Collector’s Edition:
For those who want something extra special, we offer limited collector’s editions. These editions come with exclusive content, unique covers, and even a signed certificate of authenticity, making them true keepsakes for our most loyal supporters.

HSL Café has gone through several revisions before becoming such an astonishing 3D experience. This is version 3: we’ve always kept the space small and simple. As the less it is fancy, the more you could enjoy this music fantasy…

This is the original Turbomusic application file from 2007: a true museum piece! The project was designed to focus entirely on artists, broadcasting live DJ sets instead of just playing pre-recorded tracks. It aimed to provide a 24/7 live performance, publicly accessible, and funded by radio ads.

This “24/7 nightclub” (or dayclub, really!) was intended to be completely free, with no entrance selection or dress code required. On top of that, the space was meant to offer free rooms for students and the homeless, and it wouldn’t serve alcohol. It was as much a public service as it was a radio station. However, the CSA (now Arcom) dismissed the project, citing a lack of “originality”—a decision that felt as out of touch then as it does now. At the time, we had secured a €320,000 investment for the FM project.

Ironically, we created a short video animation that depicted a world completely destroyed, yet still with a place where people could “enjoy life” without conflict or rivalry. It showed a peaceful community, untroubled by death, simply enjoying music in a tranquil state of mind, all within a very rudimentary setting. House Station Live .com has always been, and still remains, a provider of strong, positive energy. This “end of the world” setting on a raft has since become the centerpiece of our HSL Café. The raft even has a name now: Celebrate the Apocalypse.

HSL Café / Celebrate the Apocalypse

  • The Ultimate Interaction Tool:
HSL Café brings life to a community, offering a unique way to socialize. You can customize your avatar, changing every detail from your face to your clothes. Whether you want to dance, chat, flirt, or even have private encounters, it’s all possible. Since it’s a paid product, we had complete freedom in designing this tool. With an already massive community, you’ll never feel alone in this metaverse. You can create rooms, share emails or Discords, and interact via voice or photos. It’s more than just an online dance floor—it’s a massive multiplayer online game!
  • Re-humanizing Online Interactions:
It’s easy to be rude or disconnected behind a phone or computer screen. In HSL Café, however, you engage with “human-looking” avatars, fostering empathy and meaningful connections. Choose your friends based on their style, apply makeup, get tattoos, or even select non-binary gender options, and connect with those who share your values and interests.
  • Music Television Reinvented:
This platform redefines music broadcasting. As a spectator, you watch others interact in real-time, with DJs from The HSL Team™ present and embodied as digital avatars. For DJs, it’s a far more engaging experience—they’re not just talking to themselves but interacting with a virtual crowd. They can feel the atmosphere of their live session, adjusting the program based on the audience’s reactions, which improves audience retention. The dancefloor community acts as a sample of our global listener base.
  • Event Replay and Subscription:
Events happening on the Celebrate the Apocalypse raft are exclusive to HSL Café subscribers. These shows are not broadcast on HSL TV or part of Canal Smile’s schedule. HSL Café is an extension of HSL FM, which is free. By subscribing to HSL Café, you not only gain access to the virtual café but also get live TV and replay features.
  • Community-Driven Music Charts:
Exclusively for HSL Café crowdfunders, we offer access to surveys for Enjoy40’s music charts. By restricting votes to paying members, we ensure fairness and prevent trolls or non-listeners from affecting the results. We don’t need millions of participants, and keeping this feature exclusive helps us secure accurate voting. Fundings help study survey results, which are based on complex scoring systems where users rate each track after listening to a sample. Many more interactive projects like this are in the pipeline, though they require significant funding to produce.
  • Exclusive Festival Features:
HSL Café also provides special events that go beyond standard music sessions. These include artist showcases, themed virtual parties, and interactive Q&A sessions with performers and DJs. These features allow users to connect not just with each other, but with the creators and performers who make the experience special. Every event is designed to bring the community closer while offering something unique each time.

HSL Show / Address Unknown

  • Weekly Live Event:
Address Unknown repurposes the core elements of House Station Live .com into a weekly live event hosted from the iconic Celebrate the Apocalypse raft. This unique event delivers content across multiple formats: as an audio podcast for House Station Live .com, in video form for HSL Café’s spectator mode, and as an immersive experience within the Celebrate the Apocalypse virtual nightclub. The best way to experience it is by fully engaging with this astonishing digital venue, where the event comes to life in a way that blends music, performance, and cutting-edge virtual design.
